Chardonnay’s Nada, Nil, Nothing Trail
27 November from the Granada Tavern, Berriedale
Hare: Zero
Run Reporter: Morticia

There was a good turn up of Hashers for Run No. 1502. It never rains on a hash
run but it was looking very doubtful with grey skies and showers across the
mountain. The group were told to order and pay for meals and be back by 7.30
sharp! Zero ordered everyone outside to hear the trail instructions which were
very simple: βcross the road and head northβ.
Past the Berriedale Reserve the trail soon led us onto a gravel walking track which
followed beside the river providing some pleasant views across to the Eastern
Shore and after awhile some shelter from the wind. The tide was out so the
waters edge wasn’t looking its best with a good covering of mud. Some black
swans eyed the group of misfits invading their space however were unafraid and
stood their ground.
As the trail began to climb an FT indicated some back tracking was required
which then led us into a right of way followed by a check point. Clearfell picked up
trail in Connewarre Crescent leading us onto a walking track alongside Main Road
then into Casuarina Crescent. Trail then crossed the highway and train line onto
the bike track passing a large vineyard and the period Lowestoft Homestead.
As this point a thirst had emerged and I was ready to hit the bar and sit down.
The trail was well timed returning to the hotel with 15 minutes to spare. All in all for
the walkers it was a pleasant straight forward trail, well marked.
Well done Zero!

A note from Pee Wee: Nash Hash 2027 Ballina NSW
πποΈπποΈπποΈπποΈπποΈ
Nash Hash seems a long way off, but there seems there are a good number of Tassie Hashers from all clubs who are joining the βGray Nomadsβ brigade and have camper homes, caravans, camper trailers etc.
My thoughts are, if enough are interested to make up a convoy to depart all on the same ferry, slowly travel to Ballina and Hash on the way. Route and stopovers to be decided by the group. All staying in the same caravan park in Ballina.
The reason for such an early notice is to book ferry places and any caravan parks on the way. Short notice bookings on the ferry is nigh impossible.
All interested, contact Pee Wee (the short one) on 0478 834 716 or ozziepeewee@gmail.com
