Chardonnay’s Love a Bit of Salami Trail
29 October from Oceana Drive, Tranmere

A fair breeze met us at Tranmere as we prepared for the Small Shack run.

Smallgoods had set a trail with a pot of gold at the end he advised – a piss stop. A guaranteed way to ensure however bad the trail may be, all would be forgotten over a p!ss stop!

I had travelled far and long from Blackmans Bay in the hope that Smallgoods had set another of his great trails – we were about to find out! Maxi and I were left to hold hands as the only runners this evening with everyone else opting for the walk. The trail however did allow us to meet with the walkers TAP, Cumonion and others on numerous occasions – three in fact – as the trail crossed back onto the main trail.

We set off on Oceana Drive then set sail up Spinnaker Cres. to loop back onto Oceana at the southern end. A surprise visit from Luv Shack on trail as she tried to hunt Snacky down for Smallgoods, as he had helped himself to a spot in the driveway and blocked in the piss stop vehicle. Another loop up hill before we worked our way down to the water and river track.

A rather nasty uphill took us back to the OnOn with Smally on his balcony and a smile from ear to ear! We continued off on the the next loop. A nice array of walkers took to the trail including Dyke, Chris Miss, Jack Shit, Clearfell, Brazillian, In The Raw, Xena, Grizzly, Spoof, Uber, and LA.

We looped around ending back on the river track and a nice FT we were able to share with Snack Bar! Followed by an almost full circle loop of Pindos Drive, another rendezvous with the walkers onto the river track till we turned and headed back via Carella St. knowing the piss stop to be somewhere between here and the OnOn.

It was at 7.77km we arrived at Camelot Park for the p!ss stop, along with the local pussycat. All in all, a very well marked and tight close trail that worked extremely well for both runners and walkers – a certain contender for Run of the year one would think. In summary, Smallgoods really nailed the trail with the Shack!

• Hares: Smallgoods & Luv Shack. “Good trail.” “Contender for Run of the Year.”
• Cumonion and TAP: the passenger seat GPS had an argue setting. Couldn’t get a word in edgeways while working out where the on on was.
• In The Raw: despite nine months in the job as a Hash Cash, has been judged only competent enough to put crosses on the run sheet.
• In The Raw: Coming Soon made a nice cake for ITR’s mother’s 90th birthday, and used one of her (Coming Soon’s) family heirlooms as the serving plate. ITR was returning the plate and rounded a corner in the car, only to hear a crash as the ‘thank you’ bottle of wine rolled into the plate and smashed it.
• Spoof and TAP: two computer geniuses discussing ‘the cloud’ without any idea of what it means or how it works.
• Luv Shack, Smallgoods, Metro, Fringe Benefits, Red Dress and Chris Miss: can’t remembers.

• Fringe Benefits: said that she couldn’t find trail. That was because she was standing on it.
• Jack Sh!t: Jack and Chris Miss went up the east coast for a romantic break, and Jack Shit offered to pay. When he got to the resort he told CM that he’d left his wallet at home. What a champion.
• Cumonion: grumpy Hash Cash. Straight on to Dyke because he still owed $30 from last week’s run.
• Dyke: Interhash Chairman King Kong called, said that the were missing an Interhash Ball Breaker shirt. Claims that Dyke had pinched it. According to Smallgoods, you can’t walk a Ball Breaker trail.
• Snack Bar: new hair style, looks like a bowl cut. Snacky reckoned it was a Ming Dynasty bowl, so is therefore classy.
• Snack Bar: went to all the expense and effort to bring the Hash BBQ, only to find out that it wasn’t required.

Skols from the floor:

• Chris Miss to Jack Sh!t: will be missing for a couple of weeks as he’s about to have his heart zapped on one side and burned on the other – assuming that they find that he has a heart. Far Cough song sung.
• Smallgoods to Snack Bar: in retaliation for making him bring the BBQ for no reason, parked his ute across the drive so that Smallgoods couldn’t get the car out to set up the p!ss stop.
• In The Raw to Metro: ITR was concerned after Metro commented that he had nice, lady legs. Did Metro serve in the Navy?
• Dyke to Snack Bar: was ‘economic’ with his running today, choosing only to run downhill. Eventually caught up with the NDIS Pack and threw his arm around Fringe Benefits to whisper sweet nothings in her ear. Yoga mat to get a work out tonight.
• Dyke to Smallgoods: his forehead now matching the colour of his Hash shirt. No hat because it was too windy.
• Luv Shack and Smallgoods: thanks for hosting.

Next week’s trail:

• Benjafield Park, Moonah (NOT Mt Stuart) as set by Uber. $10 run, food (leftover from the Fling) and PS supplied. Run reporter, Snack Bar.
